For landlords that do not reside in Washington state but who have rental units there, an in-state property manager must be designated to handle certain aspects of managing the property. More specifically, the manager designated must reside in the county of the rental unit and the manager so designated must be authorized to act as an agent of the owner for purposes of service of notices and process. In LeaseRunner’s Washington State Residential Lease Agreement this requirement is written in bold font and underlined with reference to the statute.
