It's Washington's legal name for a PTSR: a report you pay for once, containing a recent credit report, criminal history, eviction history, employment verification, and rental history — available to landlords at no charge (RCW 59.18.030(4)).
Check their rental website — Washington law requires landlords to state their PTSR policy on the property's homepage and in the pre-screening notice. If it's not clear, just ask before applying.
Effectively 30 days — the credit component must have been prepared within the past 30 days for the report to keep qualifying under RCW 59.18.257.
The landlord must send a written adverse action notice stating the reasons and identifying the consumer reporting agency used — and you're entitled to a free copy of the report to dispute any errors.
